25 - Transformational Breathing

Welcome to The Meditation Podcast, with Jesse and Jeane Stern. This is Episode 25, Transformational Breathing.

The simple act of breathing has tremendous power. Although it is an involuntary bodily function (we continue to breathe while unconscious, for example), it is at the same time a function that we can regulate – by holding, lengthening or shortening the breath, or choosing to breathe through the nose or mouth. By regulating the breath in specific ways, we can access deep reserves of power within the body, mind and spirit.

In today's meditation, we practice a simple exercise, based on Chinese and Russian martial arts, that is designed to release physical tension and blocked emotions. Breathing freely, as in this exercise, can lead us naturally to better posture, a positive outlook on life, and a clear state of mind.

Now, let's begin.
